Mantooth Leads New Grant to Study Semiconducting Gallium Nitride

Dr. Alan Mantooth, VICTER Center Director, has received a $200,000 grant from the National Science Foundation for work that will be performed by the GRid-connected Advanced Power Electronics Systems (GRAPES) Center. The new grant will be used to study gallium nitride (GaN), a hard-compound, mechanically stable semiconductor material that has high heat capacity and thermal conductivity.
